How To Make The Creamiest Chocolate Banana Smoothie

With a few tips & tricks youll have the best creamy chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie every time:

  • Use frozen fruit. This helps keeps the smoothie cold and thick. Sometimes ice doesnt blend as well, so its best to skip unless absolutely necessary.
  • Add more liquid as needed. Dont be afraid to add more liquid if your smoothie is too thick or wont fully blend. High powered blenders tend to blend frozen fruit much better, so if you have a regular or personal size blender, you may need to add more milk.
  • Start at low speed. Youll want to start blending low and then gradually increase to high to help blend all ingredients. Finally end with the blender on low speed.
  • Sweeten to taste. If your chocolate banana smoothie doesnt taste sweet enough for your liking, you can add a 1/2 tablespoon of honey, pure maple syrup or 1 pitted Medjool date. Be sure to use a super ripe frozen banana for the right amount of sweetness to start.

Is Peanut Butter Powder Good For You

Yes again! Powdered peanut butter is made from real peanuts. Theyre pressed to remove most of the oil and then ground to a powder.

With most of the oil gone, youre left with a powder thats packed with protein and fiber and not as much fat. Two tablespoons have 7-8 grams of protein with only 2 grams of fat . Its a great ingredient to use in place of regular peanut butter if youre watching calorie intake.

    How To Make It

  • Combine. Add the frozen banana, peanut butter, cacao powder, milk, and vanilla to a blender.
  • Blend. Blend everything together until its smooth and creamy. If you need to make any adjustments, now is the time to make them. You can add a little ice, if you want a thicker texture, or you can add a little extra milk or water, to thin it out, as needed. Keep in mind that the flavor will be slightly more diluted if you add extra ice and water.
  • Enjoy! Serve this smoothie right away for the best taste and texture. You can try serving it as a smoothie bowl with some crunchy granola on top, if youd like a breakfast you can eat with a spoon!

So Much To Love About Chocolate Bananas And Peanut Butter

The combination of chocolate, peanut butter, and bananas is perfect for so many reasons! First, we just love how these ingredients taste when theyre all together, it truly is a magical arrangement. More than that though is how bananas become sweeter when frozen, which makes the smoothie nice and thick but sweetens the cocoa powder without adding sugar. Peanut butter is a great source of protein and healthy fats, which keep you feeling full longer, unlike something filled with just sugar. I love adding rolled oats to various recipes because not only are they good for you but they also hold everything together perfectly. Dont let all of this good for you info fool you though, this smoothie is 100% dessert quality and feels like a total treat first thing in the morning!

Best Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Protein Shake

Here are some pointers I have learned over the years about how to make the best homemade protein shakes:

  • When adding your ingredients to your blender, always add the liquid first near the blades. Doing this will help your blender to run a bit more easily whenever you are making a shake.
  • Use a Vitamix Blender it is THE BEST blender for smoothies! It breaks up frozen fruit, leafy greens, dense vegetables and any other crunchy ingredients into oblivion with no chunks and easy clean-up. You can .
  • If you dont think you need a Vitamix, an individual-sized blender such as a Magic Bulletis a good alternative. The biggest benefits of using a small blender are that it will help you save time on clean-up and it also takes up less counter space.

    Our Favorite Nutritional Boosters

This easy chocolate peanut butter smoothie is great for adding your go-to nutritional boosters. Here are some of our favorites to add:

    • Flaxseed meal: this is one of my favorite ingredients to add to smoothies for a little boost of fiber and minerals, and is especially great for nursing mamas as flaxseed can help increase milk supply. Usually, a tablespoon is plenty! Heres a brand I love.
    • Hemp seeds: feel free to throw a tablespoon of hemp seeds into your smoothie for a boost of healthy fats, omegas and minerals.
