Ascent Native Fuel Whey Protein Powder Review – Less Processed?

Well hello everyone and welcome to another thrilling Fit Life Allie protein review! Today Im going to review the Ascent Native Fuel Whey protein by an exciting new company called, you guessed it, Ascent! I had the pleasure of sampling two flavors of this tasty protein powder and today Im going to share it with you. In this Ascent Native Whey review, well discuss the flavor, the formula, and of course the packaging. Hopefully I can paint a pretty clear picture of what this protein powder is all about, from start to finish, outside to inside, front to back. You know Im getting awfully good at these protein powder reviews! My Ascent Native Fuel Whey review aims to be a spectacular example of my skills. Youll see. I make them fun with my words of masterful reviewing awesomeness. So if youre considering the Ascent Native Fuel Whey protein, youve stumbled on a fantastic resource. Lets start the fun.

Native Fuel Whey is supposedly Elite Protein at Its Purest. I wont even try to explain the science behind that statementbut from what I remember at the booth, its basically some sort of special extraction process that they use that is supposed to create a protein that is somehow more pure than some of its competitors.

One Scoop = 25 Grams Of Protein

Ascents Vanilla Bean whey contains an impressive 25g of whey protein per serving. Thats equivalent to the amount of protein found in 1 small chicken breast, 4 large eggs, 3 servings of yogurt, 3 cups of whole milk, or ¾ cup of almonds. Plus, our high-quality whey is minimally processed and filtered directly from high-quality milk. Not sure how much protein is right for you? Ascent Native Fuel Formula Grade: 83

I like the formulation the best with this product. The Native Whey uses a super basic formulation that is really giving you almost entirely 100% pure protein. The formula contains:

  • Monk Fruit Extract

Thats a pretty lean and mean protein formulation if you ask me! The one question/concern that I would raise is that this fancy-dancy Native Whey Protein is only one of three protein sources included, and even then, its not the first one listed. Of even more concern is the fact that it is included in a blend along with just regular whey protein isolate. What that leads me to presume is that there probably isnt all that much of this fancy native whey in this product at all.

But guess what? I dont REALLY care. Its marketing- lets face it. Theres nothing all that different about this Native Fuel Whey than any other protein powder. But I can appreciate them putting their own spin on it. Even if theres nothing terribly distinctive about native whey, its till a good clean formula. With only a half dozen ingredients listed on the ingredients panel, I think this is a protein supplement that is cleaner than probably 85% of what you find on the market these days. And that alone is reason enough to give Ascent Native Fuel a solid grade.

Who Should Use Ascent Native Fuel Whey Protein Powder

Protein supplements, for starters, are extremely useful to athletes who engage in high-intensity training on a regular basis. You may not require additional protein if you do not exercise frequently or vigorously.

This product is for you if youre one of those athletes that grinds all the time. Only an allergy to tree nuts, peanuts, or soy, which this Ascent product may contain traces of, will prohibit you from trying this unusual, tasty whey protein. If thats the case, Six Stars Protein is a good alternative.

Aside from that, Ascent Protein may be one of the greatest protein powders available, according to its unique protein derivation procedures, which result in more BCAAs and better, purer protein.

Whey is one of the two milk proteins thats scraped away during the traditional cheese-making process.

This watery milk byproduct contains all nine essential amino acids including branched-chain amino acids like leucine, isoleucine, and valine.

Mixing a heaping scoop with 4-8 ounces of water, almond milk, or cows milk can:

  • Immediately fuel damaged and torn muscles with protein
  • Boost hormones that bolster muscle growth
  • Enhance muscle protein synthesis for complete and quick repair
  • Reduce hunger and fend off those post-workout munchies
  • Shred fat while also sculpting muscle mass

The glaring issue with whey protein is the remaining lactose in each scoop. If you have lactose intolerance or a milk allergy, your post-workout nutrition could be a GI nightmare.

Okay Maybe One Thing: It Can Be Too Sweet

After a bit of research, we did come across one complaint again and again, albeit a minor one that likely wont bother most folks.

Its too sweet!

Some lifters find the sweetness to be overpowering, overwhelming, or a turn-off. Or even claim that it leaves behind a borderline chemical aftertaste well after the fact .

This could be a deal-breaker if youre not a fan of sweet, though a little tang is normal with vanilla or chocolate powders.

The unflavored version could give you an empty slate to create your own recipe. Just be aware that it doesnt have any monk fruit extract, so itll be as bland as physically possible!

Youll find yourself sprinkling in natural sweeteners yourself!

How To Use The Ascent Whey Protein Powder

If you are wondering about what is the perfect time for having protein powder, then post-workout time is the ideal one. Because you have just finished your muscle-building training, and now the muscle recovery process will start. This will need a lot of energy and protein. So, drink Ascent Whey Protein Powder 30 minutes after your workout is over.

You can mix one scoop of Ascent native fuel protein powder with water or any beverage you like. You can also use some vegan milk and stir or shake it until both the ingredients mix well. If you want your drink thick, use more than 8 ounces of liquid. For a watery or thinner texture, 4 to 8 ounce of liquid will be perfect.

Who Needs Protein Powder

One common misconception among women is that taking a protein supplement will make them bulk up, which simply isnt true. In fact, one study published in the journal Nutrition and Metabolism found that obese women between the ages of 25 and 50 who drank two whey protein shakes a day lost more body fat and maintained more muscle over a 12-week period than women who didnt consume the additional protein.

For expert advice on the subject, we spoke to Jes Murphy, who is active duty military, competes annually in fitness competitions and designs macro-based nutrition programs tailored to her clients fitness goals.

Protein powder isnt going to make anyone bulk up, Jes says. It takes years of work to build heavy muscle the way most women are imagining, and its fine if thats not their goal. Protein is an important macronutrient needed for the body, and it aids in reaching whichever fitness goal you may have.

Protein powder is a good way for women to get enough protein in their diet without consuming too many calories or feeling sick from eating.

Protein powder is light and gives me that quick 25 to 30 grams of protein without feeling stuffed, says Jes. If your goal is to lose weight, make sure you pick one with a low amount of carbs. If your goal is to build muscle, then choosing a protein with a higher amount of carbs is great.

Ascent Native Fuel Whey Protein | 100% Natural Protein Powder | Supplement Review

Whew. I can critique their taste and their formula all I want, but lets all go ahead and give credit where credit is due. This protein bag looks DANG good. Not just ok. Not good. It is DANG good. Its just so pleasing to the eye. I think it walks such a beautiful line between being masculine and hardcore and natural. Its athletic and purposeful looking, from front to back, top to bottom. I think the black and yellow is a tough color scheme to pull off, but boy has Ascent done it, and done it REALLY well. The best part is the topography line art pattern that creates a sort of backdrop to the featured graphical elements that stand in front of it. The Ascent logo is a big, bold, stylized A that sort of resembles cupped hands offering their palms over a mountain top. Im not sure if that is what it is supposed to look like, but thats what I see! I think The name Ascent and the word Native work well in unison, and create the feeling of something that both natural and purposeful at the same time. Thats the best way I can describe this aesthetic overall. Its aggressive but naturally so. It is SO attractive. Possibly the best protein packaging Ive seen this year, so a big congrats to Ascent for this praise.

Casein is a slow-digesting protein, while whey protein is a fast-digesting protein. Whether or whether this is significant depends on the type of athlete you are. On the other hand, Whey includes all nine necessary amino acids and a significant amount of BCAAs. BCAAs are among the most important amino acids for muscle growth.

Is It Really So Harmful To Utilize Protein Powder That Has Expired

If youre a few days, weeks, or even months beyond the expiration date, I wouldnt be concerned. Supplements that have been expired for a long time, on the other hand, should be avoided since they may disturb your stomach. My family members have suffered diarrhea and vomiting after ingesting whey protein powder that was over its expiration date a year ago.

Which Whey Is Best For Weight Loss

Ascent Native Fuel Whey Protein Review

There is no definitive answer to this question as different whey products can have different effects depending on the individual. It is important to experiment with different products to see which one works best for you.

How Much Whey Protein Should You Take A Day

There is no definitive answer to this question as it depends on factors such as your weight, activity level, and muscle-building goals. However, a general guideline is to consume 1-2 grams of protein per pound of body weight per day. So, if you weigh 150 pounds, you would consume 150-300 grams of protein per day.

Can I Have Milk Protein If Im Lactose Intolerant

Even if youre lactose intolerant, you might be able to tolerate protein supplements that contain milk proteins like whey or casein. All of the products Ive tested contain only trace quantities of lactose , which is frequently insufficient to cause an allergic reaction. If such supplements prove to be too much for you, you may have to stick to egg white or beef protein-based goods.

    Negatives Of This Protein

Not a single thing. There is no such thing as a perfect athletic performance supplement, and every complement comes with a but. Yes, in most cases. However, Ascent Native Fuel is one of the few supplements that has managed to avoid the unfavorable press with relative ease.

Sure, youll come across the occasional diatribe about small issues such as:

    • Not a fan of the flavor
    • Getting the wrong order or having it arrive damaged
    • Not seeing much progress
    • The consistency isnt to my liking.

The prevailing consensus, on the other hand, is very different. Its conceivable that individuals who were disappointed with Ascent had unusually high expectations or preferred fake flavors to natural ones.

Okay, there is one caveat: it may be too sweet. After studying, we discovered one common issue, albeit a small one that is unlikely to annoy most people. This may be a deal-breaker if you dont like sweet, albeit a bit of tang is usual with vanilla or chocolate powders.

The unflavored version may provide you with a blank canvas on which to construct your own recipe. Just keep in mind that it contains no monk fruit extract, so it will be as bland as possible! Youll find yourself adding natural sweeteners to your recipes!
