How To Make This Shake A Meal
This chocolate protein shake is a great fast-and-easy breakfast. My favorite way to make this shake a hearty breakfast: use 1 cup vanilla soy milk , 1 scoop chocolate protein powder , 1 cup frozen berries , 1 tablespoon cocoa powder , and 2 tablespoons peanut butter . That brings this shake to 490 calories and it has 39 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber. You can decrease the calories by using less peanut butter, using a powdered peanut butter explained above, or omitting it entirely.
Thats a shake that will keep you satiated for hours.
Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Protein Shake Arom A Sweet Pea Chef
This protein shake takes one step further. Not only does it include chocolate and banana, but it also takes the bold move of adding peanut butter.
This results in a protein shake that is extremely delicious and advantageous to your health. Peanut butter has not just been added because of its creamy taste, but because it is a decent source of protein.
You will only need a few ingredients in order to make this shake. These ingredients are almond milk, peanut butter, banana, cinnamon, chocolate protein powder, and ice cubes. Consequently, this is a very accessible recipe for you to try out.
Mint Chocolate Protein Shake From Beaming Baker
Do you adore the taste of mint? If yes, you will absolutely love this recipe, which combines chocolate and mint. This flavor amalgamation adds fresh and crisp notes to the chocolate.
If you are one of the few people that does not like this combination, you can also leave the mint out. If you do this, you will likely be missing out on this sublime flavor combination.
The nifty recipe also gives loads of tips for altering the recipe. For example, it suggests throwing some gelatinized maca powder into the shake if you need an energy boost. This customization means that you can adapt the recipe so that it better suits your individual needs.

Honey Coconut Sugar Or Maple Syrup
You can certainly add a sweetener to your chocolate smoothie, but I want to caution that what were talking about here is a chocolate smoothie, not a dessert.
Smoothies often times are used interchangeably by folks to mean anything that is made in a blender.
But once you start adding sweeteners, and certainly if you throw in ice creams then youre basically having a sweet dessert.
But, if you are someone who wants a chocolate protein smoothie that is still healthy, Id advise against adding too many sweeteners.
So, with that in mind, i suggest that you stick to either raw honey or organic maple syrup. You can use either one or both.
Raw honey does impart a strong flavor, but if youre using a chocolate flavored protein, the honey wont mask it.
The other reason to use raw honey is that is has a number of health benefits.
I would like to point out that its only raw honey, and not normal honey or honey product, that has the helpful health benefits. So, if youre going to use honey in your chocolate protein smoothie, use a good raw honey.
Heres a few good raw honey options to use.
The other option is maple syrup. To start with, maple syrup cannot be raw. Thats because the process of making maple syrup requires heating maple tree sap to boil it down to syrup.
So, please choose an organic maple syrup. And of course, dont choose a maple syrup flavored product. Some unethical sellers try and package maple syrup flavored product .
The Obvious One Chocolate Protein
If youre making a chocolate protein smoothie, then the number one ingredient is going to be chocolate flavored protein powder.
This is going to be the main protein source in the smoothie. I always advocate using a natural, health protein powder if you want to make a protein smoothie. Adding a ton of nut butter and oats is going to simply give you a weight gainer smoothie. The nut butter is just too calorie dense.
So, my chocolate protein smoothies will all have chocolate flavored protein powder in them.
I like to use a clean vegan protein powder, but you can also make a great chocolate protein smoothie with whey.
Finally, you can choose an unflavored protein powder. But if you want to get the chocolate flavor into your smoothie, youre going to have to add chocolate flavor elsewhere. I cover this below when I discuss cacao powder and other ingredients.
Chocolate Flavored Vegan Protein
Here are some good chocolate flavored proteins. Im partial to Vega protein of the selection here. I like the texture and the flavor, but all are quality and well made proteins.
Chocolate Flavored Whey Protein
Whey does blend up smoother and is easier to make in a blender bottle. But if youre making a smoothie, thats not as big an issue. Some people like to use whey for their straight water and protein powder shakes, though. And if you dont want to have a vegan and whey protein at home, then thats understandable.

Is It Better To Drink A Protein Shake Before Or After A Workout
A number of studies show that protein helps your muscles to repair and rebuild after exercise. For that reason, many people drink protein shakes after their workouts to aid this process.
However, recent research suggests the amount of protein you consume per day is more important than when you consume it for gaining muscle mass . Therefore, you can choose which time you prefer or is most convenient for you. Personally, I always opt to have a protein shake after hitting the gym, but thats just what works for me.

When To Drink A Protein Shake
Protein shakes are great to enjoy in between meals as a snack, as their high protein content keeps you fuller for longer. This is especially helpful if you are following a low calorie diet. Protein shakes are also suitable to enjoy after a weight lifting workout or as a quick breakfast. If you choose the latter, you can make the shake more satisfying and filling by adding some frozen fruit, peanut butter, or rolled oats.

How One Can Make A Minty Chocolate Dessert Smoothie
Since this smoothie has leafy greens, I like to make use of my two-blend technique for the smoothest end attainable. First, mix the spinach, mint leaves and almond milk till clean. Be sure no leafy chunks stay .
Second, add the remaining components and mix once more till clean. This offers your blender the prospect to essentially break down the leaves earlier than mixing every part else and is known as a no-fail option to keep away from leafy smoothie chunks.
Professional Tip: Dates are reasonably sticky, and might be difficult to mix fully. I like so as to add them within the 2nd step and slowly get my blender velocity to medium. Depart it mixing on medium till you dont hear the dates whipping round in chunks, then flip it as much as excessive to complete off the mix.

Whats In This Healthy Chocolate Smoothie
BANANA: High in potassium, vitamin C, and fiber, banana gives extra richness and creaminess to this chocolate cashew smoothie recipe, helping it transform into a healthy chocolate milkshake. You can easily use frozen banana in this recipe as well.
WHOLE MILK YOGURT: Yogurt is not only a great source of protein in this chocolate smoothie recipe, but it is also a live food, which is crucial for providing beneficial bacteria as a true probiotic and provides digestive enzymes important for breaking down lactose in the gut. The more enzymes you provide your body with via food sources, the better for your long-term health. We dont want to deplete our own bodys enzyme resources. Youll want to ensure its whole milk yogurt as opposed to low-fat or non-fat yogurt because you reap the benefits of the nutrients in your food when you eat it with its naturally occurring fat. Take away the fat, take away the nutrients. Not only are vitamin A and D only in the fat, but the absorption of nutrients in your food is increased when consumed alongside fat. Plus, it makes for a richer, creamier, more shake-like chocolate smoothie. You cant go wrong.
RAW CACAO POWDER A little raw cacao goes a long way in this nourishing chocolate shake recipe and not only does it impart that addicting cocoa flavor we all love, but it also is very high in antioxidant power and is a natural mood booster!
